  • Is my Kastle Insured while I am away?
    Insurance companies can claim negligence if your home is left unattended for an extended period of time. This can result in claims being denied or payouts reduced. Each policy is different. Contact your insurance provider to confirm the terms of your policy as it applies to coverage during absences.
  • How we help you with worry free insurance claims and reduce damages
    While we can’t prevent problems from occurring, by checking your home for vandalism, storm damage and plumbing issues, we can mitigate the scope of the damage and get the repair process started.
  • How do we get started?
    After you contact us we will set up an initial interview to ensure that we know how you would like your home to be cared for while you are gone. We will do a walk-through of your home, complete a Client Checklist and Service Agreement and discuss the services you need. We will obtain a house key and any alarm details required.
  • I am away frequently and often on short notice. Do we need to have a meeting every time I leave town?
    No. Once your Service Agreement is on file and arrangements have been made to get your key, a quick call to us and fee payment is all that is required to book the service.
  • What is your policy on keys?
    We will obtain your house keys at the initial meeting. Keys will be returned to you upon your return home. For long stays and if you require us to keep your keys they will be held in a safe.
  • What will you do if something goes wrong while I'm gone?
    As part of the Service Agreement, we require the information of your insurance company. We will contact you directly to notify you of the situation and in the event that you can not be reached, we will attempt to contact your secondary contact person. In the event that we are unable to contact anyone, depending on your service agreement we will either contact your insurance provider or your preferred professional repair company. (Such as plumber or HVAC company) We will keep you up to date on the developments but will handle things so that you may continue your plans with as few interruptions as possible. We will take pictures of your home and the areas of concern and upload them into your Kastle Check online files to keep you updated on the timelines. Please Note: While we can’t prevent problems from occurring, by checking your home for vandalism, storm damage and plumbing issues, we can mitigate the scope of the damage and get the repair process started.
  • How am I billed and when is it due?
    Payment is due upon signing of the contract. We currently accept cash, e-transfers or credit cards through Stripe.
  • How much notice do you need for a cancellation?
    Cancellations must be received within 7 days of a scheduled visit or a cancellation fee of $150.00 will apply.
  • Do you have insurance if you cause damage to the home or if something is missing?
    Kastle Check is insured through a licensed broker in Ontario. Kastle Check and its employees agree to provide services stated in the contract in a reliable and trustworthy manner. All employees of Kastle Check have up-to-date criminal checks on file. The homeowner is responsible for securing possessions and personal valuables and having up to date insurance.
  • Do you take 'last minute' reservations?
    We will make every effort to accommodate last minute clients, depending on the time and resources available.
  • Is my personal information kept confidential?
    Absolutely. We do not disclose any client information to third parties, unless required to do so by law or court order.
  • How long have you been in business?
    Kastle Check is a new Wasaga Beach business, started in October 2022.
  • Are you a Security company (do you provide security service)?
    No – we are strictly a home check company for insurance purposes. Please see the list below for respected Security Service Providers: ADT, and Huronia Alarms
